Host-Guest Chemistry

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1987 was awarded jointly to Donald J. Cram, Jean-Marie Lehn and Charles J. Pedersen for their contribution towards the development of Host-Guest Chemistry. Cyclodextrin, calixarene, crown ether, cucurbituril and pillararene are the most significant class of receptors till date. Likewise, we are interested in developing novel molecular receptors for recognition of anionic, cationic, neutral and biologically significant analytes in organic/aqueous medium with higher sensitivity and selectivity.
